Since I promised a post on Tuesday about our search for a house, it probably is time to give you, our faithful blog readers, an update.
We have had to deal with some unexpected drama, and it has changed what we thought was going to be our house. Last week we walked away from house numero dos and made an offer on our backup house (pictured above) because there was problem with the type of loan that we needed to use. Last Sunday the sellers contacted our realtor with a deal that would let us buy their house. We talked it over and verbally agreed to the terms. Basically the sellers were going to pay all the closing cost, so that the out of pocket costs for us would be the same as the original deal.
Tuesday when we started to get things in writing, we soon discovered what we had agreed to was not what the sellers were going to do. We then spent most of this week going back and forth trying to agree on all the terms. By Friday we decided that it was not going to work out and canceled our contract.
So we reactivated our offer on the backup house, and are now waiting to hear back on house number three! We think they are going to accept our offer, and since we can do an FHA loan we shouldn't have any problem with the loan. But as we have found out with this process, you never know what will happen.

A quick update for everyone. We found out yesterday that there had been multiple offers on the house (we think 3). So we submitted our best and final and should find out on Wednesday if ours is chosen. We are going to go look at some more houses tonight just in case ours isn't selected.
